Accept yourself for who you are, because who you are is just the right experience, enthusiasm, energy, and stamina for who you are today, and who you are today is amazing.
To me, it’s reading like “sour grapes”, just an old man complaining about his lost youth. I guess I can’t say this isn’t the case, but I seem to have reached an age where I have difficulty reconciling what I have accomplished in the past and what I want to and can still accomplish today, with the difficulty of finding the opportunity to do so.
As a theoretical chemist, all I needed was paper and a pen, so every new research topic started with a new spiral bound notebook. I would fill them with references and notes from related papers, diagrams, derivations, thoughts, programming ideas, and as one would be filled a sequel would be started.

As men age, they often gain a distinguished look. But I didn't. In fact, it seemed as though I didn't age at all.
In any industry, there are a plethora of jobs that must be filled, and skills that are needed. You would think that the winning combination would be to put the older and more experienced people in positions to teach, mentor, and guide the younger employees while they are still learning. Because THAT is how you win a Superbowl!
