As I drove my “new” (well…used, actually) hybrid onto campus from the opposite direction from where I used to, it occurred to me how different driving onto campus is. This college has seen many changes in me, and it’s a reminder of just how much has passed in the short time since I’ve been here.
The reality is that we all change whether we like it or not.
I like to give humanity the benefit of the doubt and assume that most of us have evolved beyond those strictly biological urges, seeking fulfillment, wisdom and growth.
Taoists speak of “Yin and Yang”, the two opposing forces through which all movement is possible. The Yin of pushing against the ground with the foot in each stride, and the Yang of the surrender of space for our body to move forward.
