“All you need is the love of one good woman.” Okay, I agree, but what happens to those of us who don’t have what we need?
I’ve decided to resume therapy. Because of Covid-19, apparently, today, more of these services are going remote.
If you feel as if therapy might help you, I encourage you to seek it out. The hardest part is just making that first call, reaching out and taking the first step.
Then would come a day that I really (really!) didn’t want to even go to therapy, but I came to realize that those were the days that I most needed to be there. I would force myself to go, and typically, that is when I would show my therapist one of those trip wires. But, if I’m the one harmed when it is triggered, that means that these can be used as a weapon against me.
we need to normalize this discussion, and be more supportive of one another. Understanding that these conditions are real, that there is no need for shame, that they are relatively common, and that the discussion should be normalized is important for a healthier and more understanding community.
