Flying Pigs 11/21/21

Flying pigs come from Cincinnati, Ohio, the chili capital of the world. What, you didn’t really think it was Texas, did you? There was a time when more chili flowed out of Cincinnati than all of Texas combined (I cannot say if this is still true), but Cincinnati chili is not anything like Texas chili.

Sentenced to Retirement 10/15/21

a tale of three men. Yes, I’m one, my father is another, and my friend is the third. For those who survive long enough, I guess retirement is more or less a mandatory sentence, but how we handle it is not.

Retiring 7/23/20

America has been in love with automobiles ever since. I think that it represents freedom. Not to sound too cliché, the “freedom of the open road”. I have to admit, I love driving, especially when I’m upset or need to clear my head.

Notre Dame 4/15/19

It opened in 1345, well over 650 years ago. It's an interesting thing when great historical items reach a certain age. Personally, I start to think of them as having a life of their own.
